Personal Statement
Before I graduate from high school, there are many things I would like to achieve. One of my academic goals is to have a 3.7 GPA or higher all through high school. I think it is important to have a high GPA because it shows that you are a hard worker in school. Another academic goal I have is to take some AP classes. I really want to take some AP science classes, but I also think taking other AP classes such as government and English will be good. One of my co-curricular goals is to play the flute in band until I graduate. I think that playing an instrument shows commitment, because you have to practice your instrument if you want to get better and practicing takes commitment. Another co-curricular goal that I have is to take Spanish class until I graduate. A lot of colleges require a certain amount of years of a foreign language to get in and some also require a foreign language to get out. Some extra-curricular goals that I have is to be a part of the varsity soccer team. I think its important to be a part of a team because you get to be around other people and meet new people. Another goal that I have is to do more volunteering around the community. I think volunteering looks good on college and job applications, plus it’s just a good thing to do for the community.
I have many goals and things I want to accomplish after high school. One goal is to go to college. Some colleges that I am considering are Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of California: Berkeley, and University of Minnesota: Twin Cities. The reason I am considering these colleges is because they are some of the top schools for chemical engineering which is what I would like to do when I get older. Another one of my goals is to get a job. I want to be a chemical engineer after college, but I’ll probably do something else while I’m in college. When I’m in college, I would like to like in a dorm for a while, but one of my goals is to eventually have my own apartment. It would be nice to have my own apartment because I would have more space than I would in a dorm. One goal that I have for college is to be part of a music program. I would like to continue playing the flute and I think it will be something fun to do. I would also like to do a summer internship in a state or country that I have never been to.
